About Benjamin C Tankersley

I graduated from the Corcoran College of Art + Design with a BFA in photography in 1999. After graduation as I started working out plans to begin my lucrative career in fine art, I found work as a photo assistant. I worked for many creative and inspiring photographers and realized I could use my artistic vision to pursue a career in commercial and editorial photography.

Currently based in the Baltimore/Washington area and working as a freelance photographer I enjoy the variety that comes with the job such as photographing a dairy farmer at work one day to interiors of amazing homes the next. Whether working on-assignment or on a personal project I strive to find the story in every person, place or thing and bring back images that leave you with the feeling of having been there.

Additionally, I teach part time at the Corcoran where I enjoy imparting what wisdom I have gained since graduating from there on the next generation of photographers.
