About Benjamin C Tankersley
Benjamin C Tankersley earned his BFA in Photography from the Corcoran School of Art in 1999. He is a fine art and commercial/editorial photographer whose work explores places, spaces and the people who inhabit them.
While forging plans to begin a lucrative career in the photography art world, he worked as a photo assistant and fell in love with the challenges and excitement of commercial and editorial photography. Benjamin C Tankersley enjoys the variety of one day photographing the daily life of a dairy farmer to photographing a collection of homemade knives confiscated from prisoners the next. Whether working on assignment or for a personal project, he strives to approach his subjects with empathy and produce images that translate his experiences to the viewer. Benjamin C Tankersley also is an adjunct professor at the Corcoran School of the Arts & Design. He resides in Baltimore Maryland.
