About Benjamin C Tankersley
Benjamin C Tankersley earned his BFA in Photography from the Corcoran School of Art in 1999. He is a Documentary and commercial/editorial photographer whose work explores places, spaces and the people who inhabit them.
While forging plans to begin a lucrative career in the photography art world, he worked as a photo assistant and fell in love with the challenges and excitement of commercial and editorial photography. Currently working as a freelance photographer, Benjamin C Tankersley enjoys the variety of one day photographing the daily life of a dairy farmer to photographing a collection of homemade knives confiscated from prisoners the next. Whether working on assignment or for a personal project, he strives to find the story in every person, place or thing and produce images that translate his experiences to the viewer. Benjamin C Tankersley also teaches part time at the Corcoran School of the Arts & Design at George Washington University and resides in Baltimore Maryland.
